Add friction, not willpower. Keeping your phone in another room during work or study blocks, or using app timers, shifts the burden off your self-control and onto your environment, which is a much more ADHD-friendly strategy.
Protect sleep specifically. Several studies link smartphone use to poorer sleep quality, and poor sleep independently worsens attention and emotional regulation, meaning screens can affect ADHD symptoms indirectly through sleep disruption, not just directly through distraction.
